Another failed adoption pulls at our heart strings

Today we were told that our birth mom is going to keep her baby. We are really sad, because we have never gotten this far yet. We had all our bags packed and our baby stuff ready to go. Any day now we were supposed to fly out to Georgia, because we were chosen. It is tempting to just give up, so we don't have to keep getting hurt so bad. But, we have felt inspired to adopt. I guess we will just keep trying, for at least another year.

Healing power of honey

Yesterday we went to this local ladies house that sales natural honey she makes from her bees, I believe. I have been doing research online about the medicinal uses of honey. I didn't realize that doctors used to use it back in the day before antibiotics.
The main uses I have found that honey can be used are:
For infected wounds, cuts, or burns, because microorganisms can't grow in honey. It has hydrogen peroxide in it.
Soothes coughs, colds and sore throats.
Helps with seasonal allergies, because the bees pick up little particles of the pollen and plants around your area and then when you ingest it your body produces antibodies to fight off the allergens. They say it kinda works like an allergy shot.
It has antioxidants and nutrients to help keep the germs away.
It has to be all natural honey, because when it is processed the heat kills the good stuff in it.
I have been doing research on the antibacterial properties of honey and how you can actually use it to help heal acne. Through doing my detox I have gotten some blemishes, so I am going to try it. Their are many different concoctions you can find online. Like I have found a recipe for a cinnamon/honey mask. Some say you can add lemon juice to it for a mask. I'll try it out for a while and see if it works. It's worth a try.
It is also great to use for a natural sweetener, because it has good stuff in it like nutrients and antioxidants that sugar doesn't have. But, it still is a sweetener so I can't have too much with my new diet.
P.S. Just make sure you don't give honey to kids under 1 year.

Hidden Treasures?

I talked with my sister Liz today and we were talking a bit about the Word of Wisdom. Have I really been following it all these years? Well mostly Yes. I have had a lot of whole grains and made sure to have Fruits and Vegetables often. I haven't really drank pop much, but have over indulged on sweets quite a bit.
I was reading in D&C 89 today and my eyes are opened to a lot more now, that I never really saw before. Verses 18-21 read:

"And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow in their bones; And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures; And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint. And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Isreal, and not slay them. Amen."

I have always wondered what those Hidden Treasures were? The knowledge that I have learned about the healing and revitalizing power of food over the past week have been amazing. I am getting less weary and faint and I feel that the destroying angel is not getting a hold on me anymore.

How many people in the world are walking around weary because of the sugars and artificial stuff in what they are putting in their bodies and don't even realize the source?

Please Read!

Where do I begin? I have had an experience I will never forget and I have learned so much about the human body and what is best for all of us. I have been in and out of the emergency room, instacares, and doctors office. I took an antibiotic called Z-Pak back in I think it was February or March. The last few days I had diarhea and from then on I have had weird stools and my digestion has just been out of wack (I know too much info). But, when you think about it, all of us go number 2 multiple times a week and when you think about it, our stools say a lot about how our bodies are functioning.
Let me tell you a few of my other symptoms:
Rapid heart rate
Trouble breathing
Hypoglycemia
Weight loss
Extreme Fatigue
Major Anxiety and Depression
Sensitivity to light and sound
Stinging eyes, especially as it gets close to bed time
burning in my stomach and throat
foggy brain and weird thinking, including weird dreams
Insomnia (which has been the hardest part)
Strange burning sensations throughout my body, and also numbness
I have been in bed off and on throughout the 3 months and have just constantly been praying for my health back and to help me survive this. It has definitely been the worst thing I have ever gone through. Wes has given me a blessing and we constantly pray for my health to return back to normal. I have constantly thought, What does Heavenly Father want me to learn from this and haven't I suffered long enough, why am I not getting better? My family and friends have been so great to help out with the kids and meals. Wes works from home and I can't even tell you how much better that has made things. He has been there for me so much and I thank Heavenly Father each day for such a great Husband.
Now here is the part that I really need all of you to read....
On Sunday I went to church (Heavenly Father definitely blessed me with the energy to go. I had to teach in Relief Society and I don't know how I was able to do so. But, he really had a hand in that. Anyway..I talked with one of my friends and I told her I am so tired and I have been this way ever since I took an antibiotic. She asked me if I have done the Candida Cleanse. I told her I hadn't. She told me she knew of a lady and she would get me in touch with her. After church I came home and started doing research online about Candida. And that is so what I have Had! I have almost had all those symptoms. I am so thankful for the internet! I have been in touch with this naturalist lady and I start her herbal regimand tomorrow. But in the mean time I have been changing my diet dramatically and I have been noticing a huge change in how I have been feeling and also my stools. I guess they are supposed to be one long smooth piece. I know that makes all of you a little queezy when I talk about that, but I challenge you to a Candida diet and see how it can affect your life. We went to the store last night after I had done a ton of research online about what I can eat.
Basically you have to get creative about your veggies and meat. Just go all natural, whole foods. I have always known the importance of eating right, but this experience has opened my eyes and now I see how healing food can be. When I think about it, all along I thought "I am losing weight I need to increase my sugar". I had a lot of Ensure drinks, sodas, candy, etc. I was just feeding the beast and didn't even realize it.
The first week of the Candida diet is the hardest, you have to illiminate sugar completely in all forms. I have been having fruit though, just not too much. Then when your body gets rid of the excess Candida or yeast, and starts to balance out (you may have die off symptoms like I have also experienced as well)..you can gradually incorporate "normal" foods back into your diet. The best thing all of us should be doing is just really observing what we are putting into our bodies and have a lot more natural foods. Mainly Veggies. They have so many healing properties to them. Even though I am not completely healed. I am healing. I can just feel my energy coming back. Each day I feel better and better. Heavenly Father is saying, "That's the lesson you were suppose to learn". Life can be very hard at times and I just wanted to share my experience with you, in case you feel out of wack, or just not normal. I guess all of us have Candida in our bodies and if your body gets depleted by certain things, such as antibiotics meant for bigger people,
(ask your doctor to go lighter on the doses next time), you can regulate your system by cleansing it. I hope all of us can listen to our bodies more, drink more water, eat more whole foods (mostly veggies), exercise, and get plenty of rest.
I have so much more to say, but I have gone on and on enough. I hope at least one reader out there will be able to learn from my experience and not have to suffer how I have suffered.
Love ya'll, Becky

Memorial Day Weekend

Every year for Memorial Day weekend Wes's side of the family goes camping up in Idaho. They have a tradition of playing paintball too up there. I don't really play. This year they had a target to shoot just by our campsite. It was fun! The kids had marshmallow guns Grandpa made for them, so that kept them entertained.
We all had a great time. The first day it was raining, but the second day was so beautiful and we went on a really fun four wheeler ride.
It was nice to be in the great outdoors and breath that fresh air.
