Happy New Year!

This is the picture we used this year for our Christmas Card.
I was just about to post our Newsletter, but decided not to. I am a little skeptical of the web and sharing too much. If you know what I'm saying. Love you all. Hope you had a great Holiday Season. Now on to the New Year to start fresh and create New Memories.

Lilly's first hair cut

I have been cutting hair ever since I was in Junior High. So, I cut my kids' hair, Wes's and mine as well. I decided Lilly's wispiest had to be contained. I trimmed her hair a bit and wanted to share some photos with you.
I took some before and afters. I like to put her hair in two piggy tails.
As you can see, Lilly can't get enough of her veggie tales tooth brush. :)

What a good dad

I believe it is so important for our kids to have time alone with Dad. The other day he took them out on the sled around our neighborhood and back on the small hills in the field behind the houses up here. He said they went sledding down this big hill and they had such a fun time. When they came in I gave them some hot chocolate. There's something about having warm hot chocolate on a cold winters day.
(Lilly was napping at the time, so I got a little break. Nice).

Treats for friends

Every year we try to give something to our neighbors and friends to show how much we care. I am never completely satisfied with what we finally decide on. But, it's the gesture that's important,right? This year we did random things: star sugar cookies,cinnamon rolls, star butterscotch chip cookies, fudge, and caramels. I think next year we will give something that isn't food. It seems it would be easier. I hope that our neighbors and friends know how much we appreciate them! Our kids were able to help a little with the cookies. Maybe that's why it seemed to take a long time.
Wes hates delivering things to people's doors. He got pretty upset when there was a lot to give. I say if I make the treats and the cutesy packages, he can at least help deliver them. Right?

Oh what fun

With combined effort Wes and I got the Christmas lights up. It looks pretty trashy on part of it because there is a huge Orange extension cord on our roof. Oh well, it's the thought that counts. It's the first year we have done this many on our house. So, I guess you have to start someplace. When we put them up we didn't have snow. Now we have a ton of snow. I will ask Wes to take them down. I have recently discovered I am afraid of heights.

Our sweet girl

We gave Lilly a spoon to eat with when she was around ten months. She is getting better and better each time she eats. This morning I gave her some yogurt and she looked so cute with her yogurt beard. I just had to take a picture.
Yesterday I took Lilly in the Jerry Carrier to get Byron at the bus stop. It hurts my back, because of my bad back, but it is fun for her. I remember when I was little my Dad would take me in the Jerry Carrier on his back.

I got my kitchen

I have been looking for a little toy kitchen for my preschool for a few months now. I didn't want to buy one new yet, so I could spend my money on other things for my preschool. My friend Debra that I work with in the Nursery came up the other day and brought me a ton of stuff, including this toy kitchen. Ethan and I scrubbed it yesterday and now it is down in our basement. The kids have enjoyed playing with it. We also got these toy dishes (a 24 piece set)for 5 bucks. That made me pretty happy to get that.
I installed a door knob with a lock yesterday on our storage room door, down where my preschool is going to be. I'm trying to prove to myself that I don't always have to depend on Wes to do handy things and that I am capable.
One mistake I did make was I was trying to put the Christmas lights up on our house and by our garage it was just too tall. I had to get Wes to help me in the middle of his work day. He wasn't too happy with me. I have a problem of wanting to get things done, instead of waiting for him to get around to it.

Our Thanksgiving

We went up to Wes's parents for the Thanksgiving weekend. It was so nice to get away. Since Wes works from home he always has a lot to do. There wasn't high speed internet up there, so all in all it was a relaxing weekend. (As relaxing as you can get with three kids. :) Our kids are getting older, so they act better each time we go out of town. The boys slept on the floor in Uncle Fish's room and Lilly slept great in our room.
On Thanksgiving we went to Wes's Aunt Brendas. They have it there every year with the extended family. The dinner part was out in their shop, so there would be enough room for everyone.
Wes played football with his cousins and uncles. They did two four wheeler treasure hunts. One for the kids (riding with adults of course) and one for the adults out in the desert. I rode with Wes and one of our cousins. They would go get a clue and hand it to me, because I was the one that didn't have gloves on. I could grip it well, but my fingers were freezing. It was so fun! We did it towards the end of the day, so it got dark and we had to look at the clues with the lights of our quad.
We played a lot of games and we also did a surprise 50th birthday party for Wes's mom.
We had a great weekend!
I was the one that took all the pictures. We didn't get one of Wes and I, but the memory is still in my head. :)
