A book that inspires

My friend Brandy let me barrow this book she got from the library. I read it within a few days, I just couldn't put it down. It's called, "Multiple Bles8ings surviving to thriving with Twins and Sextuplets". It was really intriguing because it is a true story. Her and her husband just went through so much and are still probably going through so much with their kids. I like how she always gives God credit for helping her through and realizes what a blessing her kids are.
This book has helped me and given me strength. Now I don't think three kids is too hard, through reading her story.
Read it, I definitely recommend this book to you all.

A dangerous combination

Peanut Butter Bars

1 C. butter 1/2 tsp. Soda
1 C. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 C. brown sugar 2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs 2 C. oats
3/4 C. peanut butter

Mix ingredients together and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes in a 9x13 pan. Ice after cooling for 5 minutes. Cut into bars and serve.

Icing:
1 1/4 C. powdered sugar 1/4 C. hot milk
2 Tbsp. Cocoa 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
(I like to mix the icing with a whisk)

I made these the other day and I just can't get enough. They are probably high in calories so try to eat each portion slow and enjoy it.

Yummy!

Fun Times with Relatives

On Sunday night and Monday morning my brother and sister-in-law came to stay at our house with their kids. I love my family! It was nice to talk with them, we don't see them as much as we'd like. Our kids had a great time too. They get a long very well with them. They played and played. Our kids love to have their cousins come.

On Monday morning we found a salamander in our window well, the kids got a kick out of it. Wes found a bunch of worms outside to feed it, it had been raining that day.
He put so many worms in the bowl that they were starting to take over the salamander, so I let it go.

Few quotes that I loved

The other day I watched, Emma Smith: My Story. I loved it. It was a little depressing, but it contained so many good quotes. Don't quote me, :) but I just rewatched it and copied down some of my faves.

Joseph Smith, "Sometimes God brings us low, before he can lift us higher".
Joseph Smith, "All these things shall give thee experience & shall be for thy good. Thine adversity and thy afflictions shall be but a small moment. Then if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high."
Emma Smith, "Sorrow can hallow you out inside, leave you empty, if you let it".
Emma Smith, "Sometimes fear shouts so loud in our ears, that it almost drowns out our faith. But, God knows who we are. We can not go anywhere that he cannot find us".
Joseph Smith, "If we are faithful, all of our losses will be made up".
Emma Smith, "Strength isn't something you have, it's something that God helps you find. Usually we have to find it one day at a time".
Joseph Smith, "The Lord will judge us all according to the desires of our hearts".

Halloween

On Halloween our community had a Trunk-or-Treat down by the church and fire station. We all dressed up, it was fun. Did you notice our boys were the same thing this year as they were last? We are trying to follow the saying, "Use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without".Ha Ha. When we got home we dumped out all the candy and sorted out the chocolate from the other stuff and put it in ziplock bags. I learned that on TV the other day. It helps so the chocolate doesn't take on the taste of the other candy. Anywho, Lilly loved sorting through it with us.
I remember when I was a little girl me and my friends used to go trick or treating for hours, all over the hills of Bountiful. We usually used pillow cases. When we would get home we would sort through it and put the treats in piles of like candy. When you think about it, Halloween is a funny holiday.
Tonight we had our neighbor over for dinner. For dessert I just made a basic brownie recipe and then when I took it out of the oven I crumbled mini candy bars on top. (I got the candy bars from our Halloween candy). When they melt you just use a spatula and spread.
I think I am a chocoholic. I have been eating a lot lately and it makes me break out and gives me a headache. I just love the taste! I might have to ween myself of it though.

Combined Party

The other day Wes's mom came down to spend a few days with us before she flew out to Denver. Wes's parents like having birthday parties for our kids. We had a joint party for all three of our kids because their birthdays are all in the fall. Grandpa and Grandma like to spoil them. They all got to open presents and they helped Grandma make a yum yum cake. It was fun.

Cute Fall Pics

Here are just a few pictures I have taken of the kids recently.

One on One

I believe as a mother that it is very important to have one on one time with each child. The more kids we have it becomes harder. The other day I was able to get away with Ethan for about like a half hour. We went to my friend Lindsay's house to see her pony mommy and baby. They were so cute!
Ever since we got our kitties our boys have been warming up to animals a lot more than they had before. If any of you have kids, I definitely recommend getting a pet. It teaches them so much!
