Weekend with the Fam

My mom wasn't home this weekend, she was in Dallas with my sister Liz visiting my brother Sam. So, we hung out with my Dad a lot. It was so nice to strengthen our relationship with him and my bros. We went to Wes's brother Kyles' football game on Saturday. He got kicked out of the game for the whole last half for doing an illegal block. Sad!
On Saturday night we had a little birthday get together for my brother Ben. It was so fun. My brother's are so corky and hilarious. It was a great weekend.
My Dad made a dutch oven cake for Ben. The top burned so he took that part out. He did such a great job on playing host. My Dad is such a good guy.
My brother Daniel and sister in law Sadie gave Ben a bag of like cowboy and native American toys and Daniel made him a homemade basketball hoop out of a hanger and gave him an old sock wadded up. It was so funny!

Fun weekend with Skye

This past weekend we went up to my home town to do a girls lunch, go to Skye's reception, and go to her wedding (which was so sweet by the way). I had such a great time with my friends. It's like my friend Nancy said, "We are making new memories". It was fun to visit with everyone, and try to be a supportive friend for Skye. I am going to try to be a better friend. That's one of my resolutions. I want to be more dependable.
P.S. That's sparkling cider I promise.

Ethan's 4!

For Ethan's birthday this year we went into the local town and played miniature golf. The place is perfect for our little family to go in and play. They have made their own little set up for each hole. It's pretty creative. Then we went to 5 Buck Pizza, we were the only ones there. We are so "frugal" that we ordered a large pizza, no salads, no drinks, just our waters from the car. Ha Ha. Ethan feels so big now that he is 4. He's a cutie!

Family Pics

We went down over conference weekend and stayed with my sister Sarah. She has this cool new camera! She took some cute pictures of our family. Here is a sneak peak of our Christmas pics.

Lilly's One!

I can't believe Lilly is one already! We just did a simple little celebration for her. We sang "Happy Birthday" to her and gave her a little dessert. Then later we got her a few presents. She has such a cute personality. Here are some pictures of her at her big party and her with her new doll that Grandma & Grandpa sent money for.

A whole lot of apricots

When we went home to Wes's parents house his mom and I picked a ton of apricots. I decided to make some apricot preserves. You just basically cook the apricots on the stove until the right consistency. Then I put it in yogurt containers and froze a lot of it. It was a little tart, so I added a bit of sugar.
I dried some as well.

Coca-Cola Classic

When I was about 5 months pregnant with Byron we went to a family reunion for my side of the family. We stayed at a hotel and I think it was connected to a JB's. In the morning my Dad treated us all to breakfast. Being pregnant I was hungry. So we were some of the first ones down there. We ate and then later that day we were feeling it. We evidently got food poisoning. A few of our other siblings got it, but not as bad. We were so sick, throwing up every probably half hour. The whole night. Strangely enough, it brought Wes and I even closer together. We were suffering together. How sad. We finally started to feel better after drinking Coca-Cola classic. I guess it just eats it all up. We aren't too fond of buffets anymore.
Ever since then if we start feeling sick, like I have been feeling last night and today, we drink Coca-Cola Classic. It's amazing how it makes us feel so much better.
